How Do I Know When a Ride is Canceled?
We've certainly had some interesting weather extremes in the last couple of weeks from heat too hailstones and torrential rain. So it seems like a good time for a reminder about ride cancellations.
What cancels a ride:
-
Tornado warning
-
Thunderstorm/lightning
-
Snow/freezing rain
-
Wet roads with temperature at or below 32 F
-
Steady wind of 20 mph and/or winds gusting over 25 mph
-
Torrential rain that impacts visibility
-
Air Quality Index (AQI) over 150
When a ride is canceled, we let you know by:
- The RWGPS Event name will be changed with a prefix **CANCELED. If you 'Joined' the event, you'll also get a RWGPS notification
- A red banner on the web page that says **CANCELED** and the ride name
- A Discord post on the BBC/General channel
- A red banner on the BBC Facebook Page, that says **CANCELED and the ride name
